Ruby grew up in India, a self-described shy girl who could not imagine speaking in front of a group. She has written about the days when the very thought sent shivers through her — which is worth knowing, because teaching other people to speak with confidence became her life's work.
Marriage brought her to Switzerland. She arrived, as she puts it, with dreams in her eyes and love in her heart, and began the long business of adapting: a new language, a new culture, a new way of living. She has never been shy about how much adjustment that took.
She began teaching, and kept going. Business management, human resources, emotional intelligence. Along the way she picked up a doctorate, and a conviction that learning should be enjoyable — for the teacher as much as the student. Gamification became her signature: lessons built to be played, not endured.
Then the classrooms closed. The shift to virtual teaching in 2020 could have been a setback; instead she studied it, wrote a book about how to hold a room you cannot walk into, and ended up discussing it live on Swiss national radio.
In 2021 she founded RBK Academy Swiss in Vaud. Today she teaches at HIM Business School in Montreux and the Swiss School of Business and Management in Geneva, speaks at conferences from Geneva to Nepal, and serves in more than a dozen voluntary roles — a United Nations volunteer, the founder of two cultural networks, and for a year the president of her village festival.
